Public Enemies Review

Public Enemies has to be one of the better movies this season has to offer. We were cursed with big blockbusters who failed miserably and were only charmed with a handful of true classics. Public Enemies falls in that handful.

The movie takes a look at the later part of ,Depression Era bank robber, John Dillinger's life. Starring Johnny Deep and Christian Bale, the movie provides us with some good story telling and excellent visuals.

The acting was top notch even though the script does fall flat at times. Director Michael Mann was able craft a decent movie about John Dillinger even though I wish it would've gone a little bit deeper at times.

The only real big flaw of the movie is that it really does lack drama. At times it feels like they focused more on the look than the feeling. And that is where it falls a bit flat. Even though it does have problems, Public Enemies is one of the better movies in this dull Summer Season. B+
