Sony to buy Ledger's final film
Posted on 12:50 PM by Paolo
In a story from Variety Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group is going to buy The Imginarium of Doctor Parnassus. The film should be in theaters this year.
The picture stars the late Heath Ledger and was directed by Terry Gilliam. It also features Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell. The actors replaced Ledger in a bunch of fantasy scenes after the actor died midway through the January 2008 production.
The film was initially screened at the Cannes Film Festival in an out-of-competition slot. A lot of buyers circled the film but all of them eventually passed.
